The audience for the U.S. magazine Foreign Policy (published by the same people who publish The Washington Post) is mostly American and, today, Canadian journalist Andrew Nikiforuk is telling them that Canada has not only lost its reputation as “global Boy Scout” but we are now evil “petroleum bullies”.
Over the last decade, Canada has not so quietly become an international mining center and a rogue petrostate. It’s no longer America’s better half, but a dystopian vision of the continent’s energy-soaked future.

It really is sad that some Canadians, because of their own political agenda, are bent on ruining Canada’s reputation.

The study, conducted between January and March of this year, asked 27,000 people across all G8 countries to give their opinions on 50 countries. Questions ranged from how much people admired and trusted the country to a country’s overall reputation.
Canada scored a 76.6 out of 100. Sweden was a close second with a score of 76.5. Switzerland (76.3), Australia (76.1), and Norway (74.1) rounded out the top five. …”
