The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade has just released some photos of a recent trip by a Canadian Parliamentary delegation to Burma and here’s a neat one, as the group meets one of the world’s most famous women, Aung San Suu Kyi.
DFAIT did not provide the names of everyone in this photo but I know a few of them so here’s my best guess at who’s who.

Somewhere in there are the other members of the Canadian delegation: Pierre Rodrigue, Principal Clerk, Journals Branch, House of Commons and Till Heyde, Chamber Operations Clerk, Senate of Canada, but, bless me, I don’t believe I’ve met Pierre or Till. (Jean-Paul Ruszkowski, President and CEO, Parliamentary Centre was also part of the delegation, DFAIT says, but I can’t spot him in this photo) And that leaves three others in this picture whose names I do not know. If you can help identify — let me know!
In any event, this group was in Burma from February 16 to 22, 2013 and, some time this year, a Burmese parliamentary delegation will visit Canada.
According to DFAIT: “Canadian delegates met with Burmese parliamentarians and staff from all political parties, as well as government and civil society representatives. The 14 members of the delegation include members of Parliament, people with experience working at senior levels of Canadian political parties, procedural parliamentary staff and a representative of the auditor general’s office, accompanied and assisted by experts from the Parliamentary Centre.”
