I agree … except that Obama’s oratory soars because of a teleprompter providing the wings. However, when speaking sans wings, he hems & haws, pauses, searches for words, and becomes like the rest of us mere mortals.
I noticed Obama opened with the very same line — about the best thing that he ever did was marry Michelle — that he used to open his speech at the Democratic convention.
Depending on one’s perception, there were either too many specifics or not enough specifics. The PBS panelists said there were too many; some US radio commentators, pundits, professors and the like thought there weren’t enough. To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln: You can please some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time.
IMO, Romney won this round. I hope he makes it a three-peat.
