Conservatives pitch for cash on Trudeau's China comment

If you’re a member of the Conservative Party of Canada, this is in your inbox tonight (I, not the Conservatives, have added the link here):

Friend,

You’re not going to believe this.

Last night, Justin Trudeau told a crowd of Liberal supporters that the government he most admired was – wait for it – a dictatorship.

He was asked “besides Canada, which nation’s administration do you most admire, and why?”

Here’s his full quote:

“There’s a level of admiration I actually have for China because their basic dictatorship is allowing them to actually turn their economy around.”
– Justin Trudeau, November 7, 2013

Friend – we did not make this up.

We can’t let this man be our next Prime Minister – donate $25 or whatever you can afford right now so we can fight back.

Sincerely,

Paul Calandra
MP, Oak Ridges-Markham

  1. Paul, you got a lot nerve, to ask for $25.00 when your party has 14,000,000 in the bank, everybody knows you are just the dough boy
for Harper and his cronies,( get a life).

  2. Akin, your vitriolic & demeaning comments in twitter on this topic have shown you to be a bigger shill for the Tories than I always thought you were. You have no credibility now as an “unbiased” journalist. You are just a promoter for Dictator Harper & his monkey minions.

To totally distort & twist Trudeau’s words (as the Tories & Sun Media will now do with abandon) shows that you either don’t have the intellect to understand what he was really saying or you are saying these things deliberately because you are a typical right-wing, Tory bigot, out to help the Dictator Harper in whatever way that you can!

    1. Blake
So what exactly was he saying? You call Harper a Dictator. From Mr Trudeau’s words I would take that he is for a dictatorship and thus for Mr. Harper and the Conservatives.

  3. Good God, any words out of Calandra’s mouth, must be taken with a grain of salt. Really Paul $25.00. Wouldn’t give you or Harper 25 cents. Akin you need to learn to give both sides of a statement.
