To mark Keleki's closing, what's your favourite local eatery?

The Winnipeg Sun reports that, after 81 years business, the popular eatery Keleki’s is set to close.

Which prompted me to wonder: What are places to eat that are most cherished in other communities around the country?

Newfoundland and Labrador

• My personal fave is Ches’s Fish and Chips, the Freshwater Road location.

New Brunswick

Quebec

• Montreal:  Michael Gendron recommends Schwartzes. Jbro says Lester’s is underrated for smoked meat and the Main is great for all-hours.

Ontario

• Aldershot: My pal Dave D. does breakfast once a week at Russell Williams.
• Bracebridge: DelBelaire says it’s gotta be Bill’s Pizza
• Burlington:  Andrea M. recommends Mount Royal Family Restaurant
• Guelph: My hometown still has the greasy spoon I ate at 25 years ago while at University. That would be the Apollo 11. Other Guelph friends pick: Town and Country Restaurant on Eramosa Road.
• Hamilton: I lived there briefly while working for The Hamilton Spectator and loved The West Town Bar and Grill on Locke Street. Michael Gendron likes the fish and chips at Hutch’s.
• Orillia: Got to go north on Highway 11 to have a burger at Weber’s. (The one in Barrie just ain’t the same)
• Orleans:Mathieu Vaillancourt picks the Turkish Village
• Ottawa: Michael Gendron recommends The Prescott. Bill Doern picks the Elgin Street Diner. A whole lot of people pick Nate’s.
• Thunder Bay: The breakfasts at The Hoito are so good there’s often a too-long line. When the line is too long, head across the street to “The Scan House” (short for The Scandinavia House).
• Wasaga Beach: Linda Henderson ” For summertime ice cream you can’t beat Mr. Norm’s Nephew”

British Columbia

• Abbotsford: Wishnik: “oneil’s home cooking , best breakfast sandwich ever.”

Out of country
