Details for #J11 – First Nations-Harper meeting

Here’s the details on the so-called #J11 meeting — the meeting Friday between representatives of the federal government and First Nations leaders. Provided by the Office of the Prime Minister:

The working meeting will be hosted at Langevin Block and is closed to
media.

Itinerary:

1pm – Opening session with remarks from Prime Minister Stephen Harper and
National Chief Shawn Atleo

1:30pm-4:00pm: Plenary session to discuss the treaty relationship and
aboriginal rights, and economic development.

Chairs: John Duncan, Minister of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern
Development; Perry Bellegarde, Regional Chief; Tony Clement, President of
the Treasury Board; and Jody Wilson-Raybould, Regional Chief

4:00pm-5:00pm – Prime Minister Stephen Harper and National Chief Shawn
Atleo will engage in a dialogue with the Chairs about the outcomes of the
plenary session

  1. You forgot to mention the closing ceremony David.

    5:00-6:00 Chief Theresa Spence discusses the GAAP principle of Native Accounting, which does not require invoices, receipts, or in fact…any information at all. She refuses to accept anything less than a 75% increase in funding to her Reserve and vows to maintain her “liquid diet”

    6:00-6:30 True to her word, Chief Spence refuses to indulge in the solid food provided for guests, and instead drinks the entire contents of the gravy boat.

  2. The only thing we want to hear is the government has finally stood up to the whiners and revoked the concept of status completely.

    That would be newsworthy, more whining like street beggars and squandering money and pandering some more unconstitutional perks to them has made everyone in this country just plain sick of them lately and we have had enough.
