Latest Tory ad: Is this what Harper was decrying on debate night?

During the English-language debates, Conservative leader Stephen Harper had this to say:

“I don't think this kind of political bickering, personal attacks back and forth, is frankly going to do anything for Canadians.”

Two days later, Harper's party released this new ad:

Question then: Is this a “personal attack” or is it, as Conservatives argue, simply reminding voters of things Ignatieff actually said?

  1. Actually it is just another Badly cut and pasted “PantLoad” from the President for Life Harper.
The CPC aka Alliance/Reform party of Canada has never won a majority and it never will.
    Good Bye Stephen

  2. What's the point of full attack ads like this, in Canada where we have more than 2 parties vying for the vote?
The ad tells the viewer that Iggy (and by association, the Liberals) is not to be trusted. But it doesn't pitch Harper or the Conservatives in any significant way. It could just as easily be a NDP, Bloc, or Green Party ad.

  3. It's really not that complicated. If Harper gets a majority, we won't have an election for another four years, and we won't have a need for these kinds of political attacks. However, if we're always on an election footing, then this bickering and squabbling will be endless, won't it. Simple.
