Few backroom political strategists have had the luck that Stephen Carter has had. He was behind Naheed Nenshi when Nenshi came out of nowhere to become mayor of Calgary. Then he signed on with Alison Redford’s campaign to become leader of the Alberta Progressive Conservatives. She finished third on the first ballot — and then went on to win an upset victory. And then there was the 2012 Alberta general election — the one where every pollster everywhere had the Wildrose Party upsetting the Progressive Conservative dynasty. Carter was the mastermind in the PC Party war room in that campaign and, after his PCs won yet another majority, he had too much fun stomping all over the pollsters, press, and pundits who said the PCs were toast.
But now, Carter wants nothing more than to unseat that PC dynasty, to put it out to pasture. And he figures that if gets behind another long-shot, that just might happen. Video above from tonight’s “Battleground” on Sun News Network.
Does anyone else see the utter hypocrisy of Stephen Carter. Talk about the epitome of the greasy campaign operative. Wow. The Alberta Party should be ashamed. I was considering them but not with this master manipulator involved.
