It took a few days but the Liberal Party of Canada has responded to the Conservative attack ad launched within hours of Trudeau winning his party’s leadership. I have personally spotted the attack ad running on widely viewed television shows like American Idol on CTV and during baseball games on Sportsnet. I’ve heard reports from others who have seen it during NHL hockey games. That demonstrates two things: a) the Conservatives have lots of money and b) a lot of people saw the Tory ad.
Political parties do not generally tell reporters where the ad is being placed and how big the ad buy is but you can help us with that question by noting, in the comments below, or tweeting using the hashtag #SawAnAd, where, when, and on what program you saw this ad.
Some responses:
@davidakin Many will confuse it for a poorly executed one of these: m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=7Qon… which run in most provinces. #cdnpoli

@colbycosh @davidakin @justintrudeau ~ The ‘indie’ parody has more punch ~ youtu.be/Mb-1XiHGjtM ~ but it’s a start … #cdnpoli

@davidakin @justintrudeau looks on the defensive Some Cdns will think that looks weak. Don’t think #LPC can win without fighting back dirty

@davidakin Still trying to understand why I should vote for the Libs when they offer no substantial policy & rockstar poli to suppliment…

@davidakin great ad. Canadians deserve better and Justin Trudeau will give them that. It takes more strength to turn cheek, stay positive!

We could use more teachers and fewer lawyers on the Hill, but I would prefer one with 15 years in an inner city high school to 2 years in a private kindergarten in an upscale Vancouver neighbourhood.
So very happy to see Justin taking a new and better tact. Canadians by nature aren’t the regressive, bitter types that Harper seems to think we are. Keep on course Justin, Harper, like the wicked witch will soon turn into a big puddle of Conservative corrupted residue. Bon Chance to our first real Canadian PM of the 21st Centurty. Rt. Honourable Prime Minister, Mr. Justin Trudeau, even sounds cooler and smarter than ‘Harper’..
And being a mailroom clerk qualified Harper to be Prime Minister? I will take the teacher next election.
A very weak response. We all work hard; that’s not a qualification for being prime minister. How about letting us know what he is actually going to do? I haven’t heard anything so far except generalities. Being a good speaker is great – but we need someone who has clear policies with the political know-how to make them happen.

The teachers I know don’t have 200k+ expense accounts… one can only imagine the amount of unchecked backroom spending will transpire if this Peter Pan gets into any position of power.
